ARTIST BIO

From a family of artists, I watched, dabbled and created in a variety of medium from an early age. Together with my artist mother I judged in the Royal Show for four years and will judge in the Angaston Show in February.

After a long career as a teacher and principal in schools which limited my time, I have continued this exploration to create artworks wirh meaning, often centred around the natural world. After retiring as principal in 2020 and now working contract in principal wellbeing, I have time to be more serious about my art and since building a studio, I can experiment with few creative limits.

My inherited love of the Australiam environment is captured and expressed in my works. Originally painting with acrylic and mosaic, three years ago I discovered the vibrancy of pastel painting in a course with Lyn Diefenbach. I joined an art collective in Angaston SA which returns me to the art world. In February 2024, I undertook an art retreat in Tasmania with Heidi Willis, discovering watercolour.

I have completed some large community and school mosaic works and undertaken small pastel commissions. My workshops have largely centered around mosaic with mainstream and special needs children as well as adults.
