As a child growing up I would spend every weekend down by the coast, swimming , surfing, snorkeling, exploring rock pools, spend hours looking looking at what I found on the beach. I found it all so fascinating, I was never bored, so much to explore.
As a student at school, I just managed to pass all my grades, as I would rather spend my days looking out of the classroom window , to see what the birds were up to rather than looking at my schoolbooks.
When I received my first camera, I began to capture our wonderful wildlife, big and small and scenery of all kind. And I still love photography to this present day.
After bringing up the family and semi retired, I began to travel outback Australia, from way down south to the very top end. Then, Covid hit, I became isolated and trapped in Victoria, for such a long time. I had to do something to help pass the lonely days. So at the age of 60 I began to paint. I was self taught. I purchased some watercolour paints and with encouragement from an artist friend I began to paint . My inspiration came from looking at my photos from my travels, and collections. And soon I found my own style of painting. A style that is now appealing.
Present days, I am still painting with watercolour, still using my own style. Happily settled as a permanent resident of Encounter Bay, exploring the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, still finding more inspiration and experimenting ways and subjects to paint. Successfully selling my artworks at the Victor Harbor beachside markets, where now my art is finding new homes locally and overseas. Facebook page is Artozgraphy.
