Born in the Adelaide Hills, Anna has been drawing and painting since her childhood. Having had a creative father who painted and made pottery at home, art and creativity was a fortunate byproduct of her upbringing. After leaving school, Anna formally trained as a Manufacturing Jeweller, and in the following years started to explore Oil Painting. She is mostly self taught.
'I'm naturally drawn to the Still life genre as the appeal of creating an aesthetic composition, provides me with the freedom to manipulate light and forms to suit myself. This is a big part of the enjoyment of the whole process of my art practice. The manipulation of detail, form, texture, contrast and light'. |
