Hello, my name is Judith Light and I am sixty-nine years of age. A retired Registered Nurse, I have always been artistic and creative. About four years ago I decided to take up art seriously and I have produced many works of art but never actually sold any, only entered one show so far. Rather than seeing art as a way to make money, I work for pleasure and have given my art away and filled almost all the walls in my home with my artwork.
I have leaned so much in these past four years (inbetween also writing a book!) including oils, watercolours and many kinds of mixed media. I have dedicated myself to learning techniques and discovering my own methods and preferences. I love to work in oil but also watercolour, I have done a lot of resin works, drawings and abstracts. It has been a jouney of discovery of many ups and downs but I am still going, still learning and I lean also from the artists I support on Patreon.
To do a bio on my art is not easy as a new artist and an older woman as I have lived a full and interesting life, apart from my art journey but I am trying to give you a little info as I am about to enter the Victor Harbour show for 2024 and in the final twenty-four hours as well! I have worked on this piece for almost six months on and off and finally I am satisfied it is good enough to enter into the show.
I hope this is helpful. Thank you, Judith Light |
